Homosexuality and Civilization
(Scientology Philosophy)

I just watched a video on Youtube by a guy I'm subscribed to (names withheld just to keep the peace). He and his wife live in the Los Angeles area, and decided to go to the West Hollywood Halloween Parade. Now, for those who aren't familiar with Los Angeles geography, Los Angeles is divided into what you could call districts. Hollywood, Eagle Rock, Watts, Silver Lake, Echo Park and others are all districts in LA. There are also some actual cities embedded in Los Angeles, like Beverly Hills. West Hollywood is an actual city inside Los Angeles. But what's unique about West Hollywood is there is quite a sizable homosexual population there. So, as you might imagine, for a Halloween parade hosted there, the visuals are unique and outrageous.

According to the guy talking about this visit, he and his wife both commented that this might be what the end of civilization looked like. And he even commented that this might well be what Rome looked like toward the very end of that civilization. The push-back against anything moral was almost palpable. There was a total rejection of anything wholesome or moral. He and his wife were startled at how out front this feeling was.

How right he was.

Now let me shift gears. One of the more "famous" people out in our Field is Pierre Ethier. He is a Class XII who travels around and consults and audits. In one of his videos, he starts talking about homosexuality and the Tone Scale. He tries to make the case that LRH made a mistake about homosexuality. He says that LRH put homosexuality where he did on the Tone Scale because this was the milieu of the 1950s when DMSMH and SOS were written. In other words, it didn't really belong there, but he put it there because that's what the reality and the morality of the time dictated. Pierre's opinion here was based on his years of auditing all kinds of people, including homosexuals. And his experience was that homosexuals weren't really like the way they're described on the Chart of Human Evaluation.

I have to take exception with Ethier. First of all, to make statements like this invalidates Ron's research, and implies that Ron was sloppy and biased in his research. Second, a homosexual does not occupy one and only one low spot on the Chart of Human Evaluation. That chart contains a whole host of columns, across which a given homosexual might occupy a variety of positions. People are complex, and rarely are they uniformly at one level only all across the scale.

Another point I'd like to make is that at the 1.1 position on the Tone Scale (where homosexuality is generally centered), we also see a lot of perversions of morality, abuse of children, pedophilia, and a lot of other destructive behavior in the area of the Second Dynamic in particular, and other dynamics generally.

With this in mind, the West Hollywood Halloween parade isn't really a surprise. Along with the showy homosexuality of West Hollywood, one would also reasonably expect to also see a vast rejection of traditional morality, and an attempt to "normalize" perversion.

The amusing thing to me is the elephant in the room that happens a lot in this civilization. No one seems to put two and two together. When a mass shooter opens fire on a bunch of innocent people, you will almost always find that he is or has been under psychiatric care, and more often than not, has been taking consciousness-altering drugs. And where you find a lot of homosexuality, you will also find pedophilia and a whole host of immoral activity, particularly on the Second Dynamic. I'm sorry for those of you who would like to defend homosexuals and homosexuality, but this is a fact. It's also a fact that a very high percentage of those who are homosexual were abused one way or another as children. This can even happen as an adult. My wife has run into this several times and so have I. A person is heterosexual one day, and then they get raped or sexually assaulted. Next day (or week, or month), they're homosexual. In fact, I saw a very striking example of this with a girl I had known in high school.

Bear in mind, I'm not condemning homosexuality as a crime against humanity or anything. I personally couldn't care less. But I also know that Ron was a careful researcher, and that homosexuality occupies where it does on the Tone Scale for a very scientific reason, and that this position on the Tone Scale is also where a lot of immorality and perversion occurs.

And no one seems to figure these things out, even though they are plainly out in the open for anyone to observe, should they care to. Obviously Ron noticed them. But then, Ron was a master at obnosis. He even coined the term (which now, incidentally, occupies a place in online dictionaries).
