A young man, with a known list of committed crimes as long as your arm, rapes and murders someone in cold blood, and is subsequently killed by police as he attempts to fire upon them. And the family complains that the police didn't have to shoot him, that he was really a good kid. Sane or insane?

A major world religion with a belief in one deity and a single major prophet spawns two major opposing factions who spend hundreds of years killing each other in the bloodiest ways possible. Sane or insane?
